Yemen’s hidden war - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
We talk a lot about the conflict in Syria but I was reminded today that its not the only place that should have our attention. Syria didn’t for so long and now people are trying to figure out how to cope with the situation. Others might be considered magnitudes worse but aren’t anywhere on most people’s radar.
The linked article goes into detail on the situation in Yemen.
- MSF describes it as “the worse destruction it has ever seen.
- Yemen in 5 months looks like Syria after 5 years of conflict. In 5 months.
- Civilians are being routinely targeted (including a wedding in the capital). MSF calls this conflict “a war against civilians.”
- A significant portion of the population are now in internal refugee camps with little outside aid. Most of the population could have used a bit of aid before ending up in camps. The linked articles says that hundreds of thousands have been displaced.
This conflict is beyond the reach of most people to do much about but be aware. And be praying.
